Many point-based martial arts and combat sports have rules in place where only the player who hits their opponent first during a match gets a point, but there are some inconsistencies in this system.

Blade Bottle Battle (BBB) solves these problems with its unique rules and provides more practical self-defense training.

The BBB scoring system is set up as follows:

  • Strikes to the head and body are worth 3 points

  • Strikes to the limbs are worth 1 point

  • The match lasts one minute, and the first player to score six points wins.

  • If time runs out, the player with the most points wins.

There are several important considerations behind this rule design:

Setting points

In BBB, strikes to the head and torso are given high points.

This promotes protection of the most critical body parts during self-defense training and equips athletes with the skills to avoid fatal injuries.

Striking the hands and feet is set at a low point, emphasizing risk management in actual combat.

Balance between attack and defense

In many point-based martial arts and combat sports, only the first strike counts, so the opponent's counterattack may not be taken into account.

In BBB, you need the skill to attack while preventing your opponent from counterattacking.

If two simultaneous attacks hit each other, both will receive points based on the part of the body that was struck.

This approach develops the well-rounded techniques required for real-world self-defense and improves the athlete's ability to avoid counterattacks.

1 minute match time

The one-minute match time is intended to allow players to escape the scene or call for help by having the ability to withstand the opponent's attacks.

The aim is to develop the ability to defend well and call for help within the short time of a match.

This design allows players to improve their survivability in real combat situations.

The BBB rules provide a balanced system for developing real-world self-defense skills and go beyond a simple points system.

This approach effectively teaches participants the skills they need to handle real-life situations.
